Will 18" AMG wheels fit my 2000 E320 wagon?
Looking at buying some used 18" AMG rims with 245-45-18 front tires and 275-40-18 rear tires - seller took them off an S430 but doesn't know what model they were originally installed on. Does anyone know if this size rims and tires will cause any problems with rubbing?

Need to know the offset and width. Those tires have too much sidewall so you'd need to replace them.
You'd probably want to run a 235/40-18 and 265 or 275/35-18. A 245 will be too close to the one bolt on the front most likely.

Thanks...already asked seller for offsets but even if they are good, I should probably pass on them anyway if I am going to have to change the tires.
From your profile it looks like you went with 18" wheels from an E350 on your Wagon - do you have photos?

Wow...what a difference a nice set of rims makes! Very cool. Just bought my Wagon - good mechanically but it still has the original OEM rims - I feel like an old man driving around in it.

Mine had those same wheels but in chrome. I hated them. It sure did ride a lot nicer on the 16" wheels though.
Get a set of smoked side marker lenses. They look way better than the orange ones and are pretty cheap on Ebay. I've got them on the wagon in the pics from the previous post.

BTW, if you decide to go with newer wheels like I did you'll need to get custom lug bolts. The W211 wheels have a different seat size than the W210 wheels. I think I paid around $60 for my lug bolts from Pelican Parts.
Yes
@Strigoi are your rims staggered?

Not sure if that last post was for me or ILLEST but either way, thanks - I will be sure to check the seat size on whatever rims I end up with. After reading your advice, I dropped the idea of going with the 18" AMG's...now I'm considering a set of 17" staggered AMG's or a set of 18" Lorinser's. Both sets will probably need some new tires.
Staggered...waiting for seller to advise tire size

I have set of 18" Lorinser monoblocks that I used on 3 previous MB and love them.
The only thing that stop me from using them on newer cars are TPMs but when I will need new tires, I will try them again.
Good design is timeless.
But the last picture shows UGLY rims.

Those 'UGLY rims' in the last picture are the Lorinser's...are these the same style as the monoblocks you have? They were installed on a 1993 300CE previously and they have some pitting. I definitely want to replace those OEM rims but my budget is low - paid $1850 for the wagon so not smart to spend a crazy amount of money on rims.

Here is the picture of classic monoblocks on my previous wagon.
The Lorinser above were design for lifted Chevy IMHO
Classic monoblock keep the value so good set will cost you about what you spend on the car. Would you be close to Vegas, I might show you mine as using them on newer models become problematic and I would part them for right price.
If I remember it right, they fit on W210 with original bolts, when I have custom bolts for W211
BTW several members used W211 wheels on W210. Direct fit, so you only have to buy custom bolts.

Now I see the difference between your classic monoblock Lorinser's and the 'maybe' Lorinser's I am looking at buying...maybe only the center caps are authentic. I am in Virginia Beach so not close to Vegas I'm afraid, but thanks for the offer.

But frankly Philip, I don't see why are you so dissatisfied with original rims.
I had earlier 10-spokes on our W210s and hated them for practical reason as I had to buy toothbrushes for cleaning by a bucket.
Those you have are much better and actually I think Strigoi is buying lot of toothbrushes now
The best budget rims I found were 5-spokes that come on E420 and E430 models.

Yep...I know the OEM rims make the most sense - the car rides really well and is super comfortable; they are not damaged or hard to keep clean. Don't have a lot of money to spend on a vehicle, and even less to spend on rims - it's just that I prefer the look. So I always change up the rims on my vehicles - sometimes it has been a huge mistake (terrible ride, rubbing fenders, speeding tickets!). These vehicles are my daily drivers so I am careful not to make those mistakes again.
By the way Strigoi...it's easy to see that you have put some money into your wheels and tires!

In my opinion the stock wheels that I had and that philiproots has are ugly as ****. I hate them. I sold mine with like new tires for $200 and that took awhile.

What freeway is that? I prize CA freeways for being very clean as I could drive 100,000 miles with air filter and installed minder still would show in green.
But look on it from positive side.

Finally heard back from the seller of the 17" AMG's (see 'staggered' photo in earlier post ); still didn't give me rim offsets but rear tires are 245/40/17 and front tires 225/45/17 - both those sizes are wider but have a smaller diameter than the existing 215/55/16's on my car right now. I am going to take a look at them; if I'm understanding things correctly they should fit if they have a minimum positive offset of 35mm.

This google maps link should work. Just pan to the right and you can see how close we are.

Drove those freeways for 30 years. Never did own the Harley, but never could get why they moved from Pacheco Blvd to this location?
Still I think you are exaggerating the dust
To OP, I don't think 215 tires ever were mounted to US models, so check your manual for factory recommendation.

Late as **** edit: Just realized you meant the old, old shop that Bill Chaney used to own. That building was super small and is now an O'Rielly auto parts place.
It started out in Pacheco, moved to Walnut Creek and is now back in Pacheco.

Checked the owner's manual - it calls for 215/55/16's no matter which OEM rims the car was delivered with (apparently there were 2 styles to choose from). The speed shown on my Garmin and the speedometer read exactly the same too...that seems to be a good way to check if the tires are the right size.
