does anyone know how to get the trim pieces on the rear bumper off? I mean the pieces that have the "chrome" trim strip on them. I need to get the center piece off so that I can repaint it. Thanks!!

you might as well buy a new trim piece because once you take the old one off the plastic rivets snap. just take a small flat screwdriver and slower pry the trim off started with either end.

The impact strips snap in to the rear bumper and are held in with plastic tabs. The 2 side pieces over lap the rear piece so they may need to be removed first or at least pulled out of the way to remove the rear strip.

Hey E-Klasse where did you find the impact strips when you updated your bumper? i also want to do this upgrade but dealer wants like $350.00+ just for the 3 impact strips. if you have a source i would greatly appreciate the info. I have be searching ebay and a few junkyards with no luck. also are these impact strips same as 00-02 non-amg model or are they amg specific?
