Hi Benz family,

I have a very weird problem with my 2001 E320 base. Whenever I turn on left or right turn-signal it work fine, it flashes and makes its clicking sounds. But as soon as I step on brakes clicking sound stop and arrow flashing dims. I release the brake pedal and clicking sound returns and arrow flashes bright and good. Now is the weirdest part: if I am on traffic light and I want to make a left turn or right turn car drives perfect, but If I turn my turn-signals on and try to drive car acts like its gonna lose power and stop. I cleaned EGRs, cleaned throttle body, changed spark plugs, fuel injectors. Nothing helps. What do you guys think?

I think you should start by replacing the brake light switch - MB part only 0015450109 - and not China-offbrand part.... there's a lot of electrical gremlins that can come up if that brake light switch is failing...

That sounds like bad ground.
Suppose brake lights and one of engine sensor/modules shares ground connector with turn lights.
When driving with no blinkers, the sensor gets ground via light bulbs.
Once you turn the turning lights on - no more ground and the engine management has no power, or no signals

It all started after I replaced my engine, I had bad feeling about this mechanic but price was good. Now you post makes sense if he messed up some ground points. Holly ****, how I am gonna find all these ground bolts and check them

PM me with your email address. I'll send you the schematics that list the ground points and what circuits are on each ground point. You will have to use the internet to find the location of each ground point but it is not difficult. I won't do the work for you but I will assist you so you can figure it out on your own.

I checked the grounds still no fix. And thing is it happens only with left turn signal. And left turn signal is very dim, even with engine off. Right turn is totally fine

Both left turn signals? Or just one? All blinkers are controlled by the SAM with each on an individual line although the turn signal lights in the mirror housings are wired into the rear blinker circuits. If only one bulb is dim, I would look for a bad socket, poor connection, or even an incorrect or faulty bulb that is causing a voltage drop. If both front and rear are dim, that's a bit more difficult as the front and rear are on separate circuits from the SAM. Try disconnecting the mirror blinkers from the circuit (remove the outer housing and unplug the connectors to take those bulbs out of the circuit). If no change, then again focus on the rear socket, connections, and a possible bad or incorrect bulb.

Just behind the right hand headlight is a common ground shared between headlights horn indicators, literally the first fix i performed.
It may look attached but please give it a good tug, just move to the heater booster bracket.

I tried everything and I guess I found the issue. When plug for the tail lights is fully "clicked" I experience this issue and also i saw that stop light bulb also blinks (weird), but as soon as I try to disconnect the plug and leave it half pulled out, tail light works perfect.
