AMG Monoblocks for E430
Good afternoon, all!
I'm hoping to buy some new wheels this summer but am not entirely sure to what to look for. I love the 18" monoblocks that are stock on the W210 E55, and am looking to pick up a set for my 2001 E430 non-4matic. How should I go about this? I've been checking eBay fairly frequently but have no idea what offset or other specs would fit my stock body without any modifications to fit. How wide can or should I go with wheel specs? Is there any way to discern monoblocks off of an E55 from other AMG models, and is there even a difference between models? How much is a fair price to pay for a clean set? I appreciate any advice as to what to look for, as I'm having a hard time understanding all of the different options, even just in the realm monoblock wheels. Thank you! |

Welcome 01V8, As an example, I run staggered. You may wish to run a square setup. 18x8 et31 front with 235 40 18s 18x9 et35 rear with 265 35 18s others may run 18x9.5 at the rear. You will also need to check your wheel well inner lips as the standard E class do not have rolled lips (only the AMG models did if I recall correctly) Cost? - they seem to be getting pricier. Also be aware of the generic monoblock knock-offs. They are cheaper, but you get what you pay for. |

Expect to spend $2500+ for a really nice set of E55 Monoblocks (wheels only).
I bought a set (fronts from CL, rears from Ebay) that were in rough shape for my wagon and had them restored. I'm still $2500 into them and only had to buy 2 tires. The rears I bought came with a set of almost new ones on them. Even if someone offered me $3k for them at this point I wouldn't sell them. FWIW, my E320 is lowered almost 1.5" and I have no issues with rubbing. Attachment 440255 |

Beware that monoblocks form S class have much bigger offset and not likely will fit W210 without spacers, who I would avoid. For 9" rims you need offset around 35. The wheels from C and SL should fit without modifications. Also consider that with less rubber on 18" wheels - the wheels damages might become frequent. |

Going from the stock 16" wheels to 18" wheel also made a big difference in ride quality. Not in a good way either.
Just avoid the generic ones where one semi-pothole will set you back. |
