Drilled Rotors: Directional?
 

Trying to find a decent set of drilled replacement rotors for my 2000 E430. Looking at a set of Zimmermans. It appears that there is only one product number for the front and one for the rear. No left or right. If the drilling is directional, won't the holes be spinning backward on one side? Does this matter as far as airflow and pad wear? Won't it look goofy?

Are AMG and Brembos sold as left and right?

What say you, good peeps?

Slots or drilling does not always determine the direction of rotation, rather the internally vented disc and it's geometry of the vanes dictates the direction of rotation. Straight and pillar vane type are typically non-directional and can be used on either side. However, a curved vane disc is directional and to create a centrifugal effect the vane disc must be installed with the vane running back from the inside to outside diameters in the direction of rotation...e.g. (the directional vanes should point to the rear of the car so the air is drawn from the center of the rotor and pulled outward).

No comments on the Zimmerman product as I have no experience with it. When you source the vendor to order the parts, I suggest you speak with their in-house tech for proper application.
