Good luck and it can be done.
I did this task on my ’97 E320 about 4 months ago and it was really frustrating until I figured it out (actually from searching this forum) Arvid, give me your email and I will send you a two pdf files with instructions.
Some pointers:
-The light needs unclipped from the right side, it hinges down from the left.
-Once the screws are out (6 total, you may have unnecessarily removed the rubber stops), you will need a long screw driver to stick through the opening where the light was. The glove box has a step on both sides (top) that make it wedge in there pretty tight. With the screw driver, you will have to push down on the top while pulling out. It will sort of hinge from the bottom and come out on the top. I guess the MB engineers thought the six screws were not enough.
Good luck.
OK, I remover the plastic above the passenger foot. Yes, there was the dust filter. It took me 10 minutes to change it, and one week thinking on the glowe box.Tanks again. sorry my bad englich

There should be two air filters behind the glove box. However, if you just want to change the carbon filter, yes, it's where the passenger foot rest is. You could've save a time by asking first.
Anyway congratulation.

They are inside of the housing on the right of the glove box. You have to remove the latches, you'll see them - there are two of them.
Good luck

I can not find, or see, any cover to remove????
Not sure what all those numbers you sent me. Check out the following web site to decode your VIN. http://buymbparts.com/content.wws?fname=../vin.htm .
Does your model have automatic climate control / air conditioning? The WIS shows the dust filter I was expecting to see plus the one below the dash. The one that is below the dash is for models without automatic air conditioning. For models with automatic air conditioning, there is the dust filter behind the glove box and two carbon filters (activated on climate control) below the dash. I am guessing that most if not all US spec 210's have automatic air conditioning.
Sorry, I cant find any number than the chassisnumber

The car has air condition, but automatic or non automatic, I don't no.
I can turn it of in eco mode if I like, and the AC pump stops. No air condition.
Cars with automatic AC ,you can not turn the AC of???
Is that number your entire VIN?
I think the WIS automatic air conditioning may mean automatic climate control??? It states something about code 581a but I do not know how to reference those codes. Automotic climate control basically means (I have dual zone) that you set a temperature and the system does what it needs to maintain that including air conditioning, heat, blower motor, vent selection... Does you system do that?
Also, did you purchase the dust filter from a dealer? If they did not give ones like I pictured, there probably is nothing behind the glove box.
I can not find any large number (VIN) in my car. I like to cange all filters in my car,( second hand car, and new for mee) so I order oil, air, and dustfilters from my dealer. I get one dustfilter, and this fit perfekt under dasjboard, left passenger leg. The rectangular filters in the drawing/pictures, I have never seen.
I think I have a Automotic climate control
Here is a pictures of my A/C control panel

The are noting more to do. I think you are right. The are only one filter in the car, below the dasj. I have change it, and that's it.
