v710 handsfree sound quality

I'm using an MB v60is in my '05 with cradle in butterfly console. This is what MB gave me as an upgrade to a v60c I had in an earlier ML before the v710 was available. The v60is works better, but listeners say I sound like I'm talking from inside a fish tank when using it handsfree. If I take it out of the cradle, then I sound great.

Was wondering what the outbound handsfree sound quality of the MB version of the v710 has been for anyone?? And particularly as compard to a v60xx, if you've had that experience. I'm using Verizon.

I have both the v60s and the v710 (Verizon) in my '05. Callers have not complained while using either phone, except one time when I was going about 75mph on a very rough highway (with the v710 in use at the time). In fact, I was talking to someone last week for about five minutes when my wife added a "hello" from the passenger seat. The caller asked, "Am I on speakerphone?" It wasn't until my wife said hello that he realized I was using the handsfree. I was going 75 mph, not sitting at a stop sign.

Sometimes callers need to realize that you are on a speakerphone, and it won't always sound like using the actual handset (especially depending on road conditions). I can say that this MB feature is 10-fold in quality compared to the "professional-install Motorola car kits" that I have had in other vehicles.

Based on my personal experience with both phones, I don't think that the sound quality is noticeable to callers (although the features of the v710 phone itself are much more advanced). If your v60 sounds inferior to all callers at all speeds and road conditions, I'd put the issue back on your dealer. If it's just an occassional deficit, it's probably the callers expectation that you should sound crystal-clear at every moment of the conversation.

Thanks for the input jschade. My hypothesis was that the 05 E's handsfree programming was optimized for the v710 and v600 since, I thought, they were the phones originally intended for this vehicle. If that were true, then one might expect somewhat less quality for the v60 series phones. Apparently not so in your observations. My interest in the v710 is only to improve handsfree outgoing sound since the phone stays in the car most of the time, rendering the other advanced features of little utility. Guess I'll have to dig deeper with the dealer, as you suggest. Thanks again.
