A trip to the dealership...problems with loaner
My E needs some warranty work so I left at the dealers and drove away in a c230 coupe with 8900 miles only. Right after I drive out the dealers property, made a left onto the street I heard a beep and the instrument panel turns red saying oil level is too high. Isn't it ironic...I now have to take my loaner back for a loaner.
But wait a minute I thought...what if I take it back and this red warning suddently goes off and not come back? That would make me look stupid.
So I kept driving away and it did went off after about 5 minutes and not come back for the day. Now this warning message seems to come on after the engine is warm and goes on and off periodically.
I think Enterprise knows about the problem on this car, since the lady who handed me the keys kept telling me if I feel this car is too small I can take it back in a few days and exchange it for a M class or C sedan. I just hope driving around with high oil level is ok...Penske is expecting my car to be ready in about a week.

It could be the oil level sensor. MB replaced the oil level sensor on my car and I haven't seen the oil level high message since the replacement. There was a thread on this issue some time ago. See:
