Just greenfiltered my E500.
Throttle response is markedly improved. Not even a thousand miles on it, but the ECM seems to have adapted nicely to the more aggressive driver inputs. This is a must do modification, IMHO.

Does this require that you change one or both filters? I have an '05 E320 and from what I understand, there are two filters. Help?
Also, do you think it's worth doing on an E320? Will I feel an increase in responsiveness?

They come lightly oiled and seal much better than K&Ns. They have been shown not to foul the the hot wire in the MAF like K&Ns in other german vehicle applications.

I am ticked off that they don't have them for the CDI... I emailed them and they first came back and said yes, that there were two filters, then they re-read my email and noticed it was a CDI and said they did'nt make them. Ticks me off! They're really supposed to work great.

I still can't decide whether to do this or not....don't want to mess up the MAFS by replacing stock filters, and am not sure whether it will foul things up.

I say go for it. You can always clean out your MAF (not suggested for those weak of heart...
)
As far as I know, no one has reported problems with the Greenfilters, however I have heard of problems with K&N's.

Thanks, turns out K&N doesn't make one either. My best bet is to find ifa German firm makes a good after market filter, the Diesels are a plenty in the EU.

If these filters are so great then why aren't they std from the factory? Also (m)
if something goes wrong what about warranty issues? I recall reading somewhere reputable that aftermarket filters often allow much more dirt into the engine.

Without micron size data related to filtration, it is only an asumption. MAF's have historically failed secondary to over oiled aftermarket air filters coating the hotwire in the MAF itself. This renders the sensor useless to determine the proper fuel to add to the metered air usually causing an over rich mix and rough idle, if any.
