Just worked all night and installed the iPod kit in my 2005 w211. I know what you are thinking... the kits are not available yet... how did you get it. Dean and Steve have developed a new wiring harness that lets the w203? iPod kit work with any w211 (even pre 2005). Dean tested it on his car and then set it up on mine. It is a nice integration. The ipod shuts off when the car shuts off and turns on when I open the door. It shows a nice Mercedes symbol on the ipod when connected. I can control it from the steering wheel and I can see the name of the song. When I fast forward through a song it gives me a % of song left indicator in the dash's display. I had Dean install it in my center console as I just got the iPod Nano and it is small enough to fit there even with the UHI phone. This is cool - Thanks Dean.

I haven't been following this lately, but I thought it was established some time back that the IPod install kit would not work on the 03-04 w211?

we are not sure yet wether the ipod kit will work with early 2003s (build in 2002) but does work with the 2004s and most of the 2003s...we are still working on the final wiring harness and will probably be offering these 2003/04 211 Ipod kits for almost the same or the same price as the 2005 W211 Ipod kits from the US dealerships.
I hope to be able to test the kit on a eurospec 2002 W211 this week (to see wether it will work with all 2003 211s).
