Could be for real, although I'm not visualizing how the picture got taken - did the driver mount the camera on his chest?

The US-spec E55 turned 1800 rpm at 60 mph in top gear, according to a 2003 Road & Track test. So, 306 kph (or 190 mph) would be about 5700 on the tach; the 5400 indicated is in the ballpark and could be explained by different wheels/tires or different rear axle. There's little doubt that the E55 has enough power to reach that speed with no electronic limiter.

I remember a video that was posted several months ago that showed a similar attained speed. It was also in KPH, I don't think it's photochopped.

That's some white knuckle *hit

Nice, it must be amazing to drive at that speed! Where did the photo taken? It must be outside of HK, driving that speed in HK is crazy.

...at 5.5K RPM. I beleive redline is 6K for the E320/350. Is it the same on the E55? The AMG tach doesn't indicate it.

Doesn't really matter much....rev limiter would kick in when nearing max. RPM.

Somebody in the left rear seat, I hope. Wouldn't want the front-seat passenger leaning over the driver to take the photo. Can you imagine being a rear seat passenger in a car going 190 mpg?

If that is an E350, what is with the AMG Tach?

Is that your car?

I very much doubt that an E350 (or E500) has enough power to reach 190, speed limiters aside. Also, if it's an E350, the entire instrument cluster is from an E55, not just the tach. The E350 metric speedo only goes up to 260 kph.

That is def not a CLS55, look and you can see the large vent on top of the dash. Also that looks like an E-class steering wheel.

The binnacle around the speedo etc has detailed stitching. My E doesn't - does yours.

BUT right click and save the picture and default file name is E55
