Ticking Noise From Radio When Opening Door?
Hey Gang,
I've got my '03 E500 at the dealer to diagnose the following:
Upon entering the car (opening the door), the CD/radiio emits a ticking sound for about 10 seconds. It doesn't happen every time, just once in a while. It's a bit annoying. Dealer called earlier to say that "it's a normal function, the radio is waking up". This didn't happen when the car was new - it started about 12 months into service. Anyone experience this, and is there a cure?

ur stereo is dead or just about dead. Mine did the same thing, and no its not normal to wake up the radio with ticking, its not a human who needs to yawn. Mine was doing the same thing for a while but it was working fine so i didn't pay attention much, but then it ate one of my tapes n that ticking really ticked me off. Dealer checked it out, and said it needs to be replaced, only took then over a month to get the new one in. Have Fun.
