quiet high pitch whine from the front
hello
i have an 04 e500 4matic and after a shutdown i hear a high pitched intermittent whine from the front driver side of the engine compartment.
the whine is so quiet that any sort of wind will drown it out.
at first i thought it was the ac compressor but i made sure that it is off inside the car and had my friends verify the noise as well, unless the compressor runs for some odd reason even when i tell it to be off i am clueless.

I think it might be the SBC brake compressor. I think I know what you're talking about. I hear that same noise too after i turn my car off. It's kinda like a noise you hear from water flowin through pipes accept far off in the distance
