Movie is disappointing - European model simply thrown on NY background. Also, correct me if I’m wrong but there’s no driver. Where’s the creativity? I do however, like the intro and highlights as it emphasizes the “E-Class in a new light” theme rather well.
Overall extended chrome trunk trim, front bumper V design, redesigned front & rear lights, dual front emblems (hood & grille), bigger engine, Pre-Safe, and ILS do make for nice improvement.
If MB can bring the bread& butter segment E-Class satisfaction level up to the outstanding satisfaction level of the new 07 S-Class I think Deiter will be well on his way to bringing the brand back.

Bingo! The statement of the week! So very true, it is the E-Class that has caused more grief around the world than the S, at least it got more attention. If this facelift can get the reliability in line with all the other nice things about it, yes this will be very big for Mercedes and their quest to regain their rightful place in the world.

IMHO, with the influx of all this new media, the fact that certain photos make the facelift grow on you has to do largely with the slick photography/cinematography. I'm willing to bet that a pre-facelift w211 in the same photo under identical lighting conditions, angles, etc. will still look much better. Or, I might just be suffering from sour-grapes syndrome.

Its all very nice, but its all hype unless they fixed all of the glitches that make our E's the most beautiful, sturdy, safest cars in the world with electronics that are about as dependable as Windows 98.
If they haven't fixed ALL of the problems, then all of the makeup in the world slathered onto an ugly old woman won't make her more desireable to the smart money.
