Display Street Name in Command Console

Display Street Name in Command Console
I have a '05 E320. One thing that has been bugging me is that command console does the display the name of the street I am travelling on on the screen (more specifically, like how they display the coordinates at the bottom). If they can show the GPS coordinates at the bottom of the screen, why don't they have an option to view the actual name of the street. Instead, I have to view the name of the street in the center console (display inside the speedometer). I read the manual cover to cover trying to figure this out...am I missing something?

IMHO I consider it advantageous to have the street name displayed in the IC and would rather not have it displayed along the bottom of the COMAND screen. Now if you’re talking about displaying the street name within the main COMAND screen you can accomplish this with the zoom softkey.

What bugs me is that the only was to see any street names is you have to be zoomed in all the way.
It would be nice if one step back from all the way in would show at least the major street names.
Anyone know if this is possible with the newer disks?

I would like for not only the street you are on to be displayed in the Center console, but also the street name and distance to the next street you will be turning at and the direction (left or right) for that turn. Often the voice prompt and the instrument concole display occurs later than I need in order to get in the proper lane for a turn. My Magellen system i use in other cars, is FAR BETTER on showing you the name, how far and direction of turn for next street.
