Cobra to Benz.. story inside..
Im coming out of a 600RWHP Cobra.. I got rid of the car because it was time for Luxury and comfort.
Any Mods I can do the E350 for any performance.. Chip/intake/exhuast? is it worth it.. I like a quit car after having a beastly sounding car for 2 years, i need some peace.. haha
So if Exhuast has barely a gain, than not worth it..
Im thinking of chiping the car.. to improve shifts.. make them harder..
Is that option out there?
Plus i really want to get the CLS grill on the E.. will it work

sweet.. i didnt buy this car for performance, just luxury. so rims is my next option. windows are being tinted now

600 Rear Wheel Horse Power
meaning it puts all 600 at the wheels.. You lose about 15-20 percent of your power from engine to Rear wheels... so my cobra was in the mid 700's in Horsepower
so i took a major decrease with my new benz, but the look/smoothness just makes up for it.. and the Name.. I WISHHH I would/could afford the E55.. thats my dream car.

Wheels(wont estimate a price because sky is the limit)
springs(lowering the car with out airmatic needs springs... prolly 300 for springs and who knows for labor)
Exhuast(Wont do much on its on but estimate about $300 for a custom shop exhuast and ~$1000+ for a premade one)
Intake(green filters prolly run you ~$100)
Pulleys(~$300ish)
ECU (Chip will run you $1200+)
And there are PLENTY of E500s with appearance/sport package in Cali, There were 4 or 5 of them at one dealer alone when I looked on netstar about a month ago searching for my white sport with pano

I was told it's the "Mercedes Markup".. basically people pay the sky high prices since they think they have to.
I looked at chips for my E500.. $1000+ for ~10 HP? You got to be kidding me.
Since I make 'chips' (I probably had something to do with what was in your Cobra in one way or another), I am on a quest to make my own handheld FLASH programmer and tuning software for MB vehicles.
I have a brand new Ford GT sitting here and a 'chip' for it is $399 retail and gives me ~50RWHP increase, plus I don't have to send the PCM to anyone and hope to hell they know what they are doing and I can datalog with it, pull trouble codes and make fuel/spark changes to it by myself (anyone can).
It kills me what I have to pay for additions to this car.
My problem is I make alot of that stuff.. but I have a hard time justifying the prices others charge. I feel I am ripping them off. Moral delima to me.
But I guess if your willing to be overcharged... might as well overcharge.

Agian fellas, I dont care really about performance.. too much at all, exhuast, no way.. i need piece and quite in my car.. my old car was way too ****ing loud.....Its time for comfort.
My main thing is I want the car to shift harder.. it seems to be sluggish inbetween shifts...

Now I drive an 06 E350 with Appearence Package. I just have tint and a slight lowering. I thought about a dry shot or someother stuff but in the end it is just a waste of time to put into a Mercedes. Just rim it up and roll hard.

My grill is Chrome, factory, i want to get the Emblem in the grill.. like on the C-class.
I dont think I have the star diagnostic option on my car..

The torque from the CDI makes it seem so much more fun than a semi stock 350z. What I miss the most is the hair pin turning and the wonderful exhaust sound.... On my list of "to do" mods is a kleeman chip, braubus lowering, and a custom exhaust. I know most of what I gain from the kleeman chip is trq...but its fun as is and it's plush. All I "need" from the car is what I listed. I plan on researching some Euro manufactors for mufflers/tips and having some 3ish inch piping ran from the cats to the back ( I have never really checked the underside of my car.) If all works out that should sound nice.
Enjoy the car for what you get and let me tell you there are screams on most 350z forums about the slk350 pulling like mad top end and I am really enjoying the low end of the CDI...so you have potential. I got the opening year of the Z...so I can tell you this from exp. Let the manufatcors get some more R&D down and then jump the boat when mods are easier and cheaper. Enjoy it for what it is now
