cfisher you are right. No mention of the Nav system. Can someone also help me to figure out if I should subscribe to TeleAid and get the extended warranty beyond the 4 yrs? I am picking up my car in a couple of hours

well first year of tele-aid if is for free...so dont worry about that..and i would wait 5-6 months to see if you have any problems, if you have a lot, i would, you get a 1 year to decide if you want it or not

Wifey called MB to see what was up (Isn't she great! And 9 mos prego too!)
They said nothing was shipping with Nav...couldn't give a firm date but probably beginning of November things would be available...couldn't give pricing...and also wouldn't confirm if it was even DVD-based system...
I don't think she reminded them that the "National Rollout" was TODAY though...

Thanks bmms8. I will wait on the warranty. I was reading about the TeleAid and seem as though the 1 year free is only activated when you subscribe to the service. Is this true? ...and if it is, does anyone know how much the yearly subscription charge is?

bmms8 , do a side-by-side comparison on mbusa.com and you will get the true figures. I just did and it quotes the acceleration 0-60 mph in 7.1 seconds for E320 and 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds for the E500.

You need to give them a credit card to get the first year of teleaid for free. that is because it only includes a limited amount of air time, 30 minutes I believe and this way they have a way of charging you if you go over. I never used mine in my ml320 and cancelled before the end of the first year. I had a question to ask them and it took 30 minutes on hold before they answered. that was enough for me. they said it was because they erroneously mailed out renewal notices to all car members on the same day generating a lot of calls - how dumb!
Anyway, it isn't cheap. I think $60 or so a year. Can't really remember. With cell phones so ubiquitous, can't really see using it. it does go off if the air bags deploy and could be helpful if you couldn't call anyone. Are you way out in the stix?
