I have a new 06 cdi. I am interested in installing the 18 inch AMG wheels from the E55. I am leaning to a set of Michelin pilot AS tires. Anybody tried this? How is the ride and what milage penalty? Next do we have any user of the Kleeman or Carlsson box to upgrade power? What is your impression? What impact on milage, smoke on acceleration, etc? Do you remove the box when taking for service? What is impact on warranty? I spent a lot of time on this board before purchase and found very helpful. Congrats to all for making a good source for info. Regards Bill

I can answer your questions...
I have cls500 rims, same size as E55 rims and I couldnt be happier. they ride great and i havent noticed any sacrifice in mpg or ride. In fact the car handles better.

I also have the Kleemann KD box. MPG has improved and the power off the line is amazing. There is smoke if you floor it and hold it for more than 4-5 seconds. other than that, no noticeable smoke. I leave mine in at the dealer as they dont care. but honestly ifs a 1 hour install/deinstall if you choose to take it out to go the dealer

I have the performance one. 20hp and 50lb ft torque

2 +/- mpg increase at highway speeds.
