2003 E500 Ipod Integration Suggestions
Hello, I have an 03' E500 w/Comand (non-nav) system and am looking for a way to integrate my Ipod.
My dealership will only install the integration peice on 04's and newer.
The FM tuner is not great quality.
Any thoughts on how this may be accomplished?

They may have a solution for you, or may be able to point you in the right direction, since they've been able to tap into the command system...my 04 had an aux input in the glove box, so we tapped into that when we installed a dock connector in the center console for my iPod's audio and video (+ power).

I can't point you towards an integration solution, but if you're willing to settle for improved sound compared to an FM modulator, you can put that useless '03 cassette player to use:

I've done it both ways with an XM portable receiver, and the sound is much better with the cassette adapter compared to the FM modulator.

How about buying a Euro COMAND, putting all your music on a DVD (which the Euro COMAND can play) and call it a day? I thought I just saw somebody selling a Euro unit in the Classifieds for 600.00. And as an extra benefit, you can watch dvd movies on it.
