Burl Walnut (731) vs. Designo Burl Walnut (W60)

Is there any actual difference between the two of these except the $300 price tag?

I have the option of getting my car an entire month earlier (08 E550) if I go with a car thats on its way over w/o an owner .. it has W60 Designo Burl Walnut.

Any opinions? Thoughts?

Funny you ask that.

My 08 has a black interior. The “black walnut” (forget the name) that comes
with it can’t even be seen. So .. I had ordered Burl Walnut. It came with the
Designo Burl Walnut for 300.

Now, it’s possible the salesman ordered Designo. I don’t know. I thought the
regular I’d seen looked just fine.

The black you are referring to is "Black Birdseye Maple" and it is ugly with any color combo for me.

Jimm, have you posted pics of your car on this forum yet? I'd love to see some shots of what W60 Designo Burl Walnut looks like on black, or even privately if you don't want to post them.

Sorry. I don’t do pictures. But, the Burl Walnut I got looks great
with my black interior. Although, I think it would look great with
ANY interior!

Fair enough. I feel weird taking pics of my personal belongings and posting them on the net myself.

I'll take your word for it until I can see the difference at the dealership in a couple of weeks.

Beautiful. And I have your wood leather steering wheel on order
too, that should be here soon. (Was suppose to have come with
the car.)

That wood wheel really makes a “BIG” difference inside the car.

Here's a couple of my 2007 E350 Sport with the designo wood. I love the contrast as I thought the black wood looked lost with the black interior. :) Now I really wish I had the wood steering wheel...

Yours is designo (W60) burl walnut?

But, I still don’t think we’ve answered Vik’s question,”what is
the difference between Burl and Designo Burl.”

From the pics you’ve posted .. is the regular Burl just a little
lighter? In any case, they’re both great looking!

Regarding the burl/leather steering wheel I‘ve ordered .. I'm
getting it because many of you said it is a “must have.” And,
after comparing several interiors, I quickly agreed.

A wood/leather wheel should be “Standard Equipment” on all
E’s and S’s! Period!
