Question for those who have ordered E Class cars
My E550 was built 8 days ago. Does anyone have experience with how long it takes to get from the factory to the ship? Then how long to cross the Atlantic? My sales guy is being very vague about delivery estimates but I need at least a ballpark from someone outside MB sales with experience.

Very Rough Guide:
Up to a week sitting around after being built
10 days at sea
a week at customs/VPC
up to a week in transit.
I'd say it'll be on your driveway the week of Sep 20 to 27th. These are NOT accurate timing periods for each step AT ALL, but having done it twice on a 211, I've used this "formula" both times & been within a day or 2 of mid-week of my prediction.
The dealer will call you before the front wheels hit the ground backing off the truck. Yo go, you look, he unwraps it & installs the star, you look again the next day, go inside, sign the papers, & roll. You will love this car! Don't forget to check the tire pressure for over inflation & set the tranny in "C" mode for the 1st 1,000 miles.

or my suggestion is ... they prep the car, then you DRIVE IT, make sure it drives straight (alignment issues exist) and eveything works, then sign any paperwork. They have to let you test drive your own car I figure.
Like Barry45RPM says, I've heard about the high tire pressure, so I'd have the dealer take care of that as well. The correct pressures should be on the car somewhere.
