Puck with Tail & PALM Smart Phone?
I just ordered the Puck with Tail from MB Dealer and am anxiously waiting (will arrive on Tuesday). I'm gambling, as I'm not sure if it will work with my Palm smartphone. Have any of you had any success with a similar setup?
I plan on taking my car in for version coding and turning on the tele-aid feature. I will post results.

that's great news! The phone book issue is minor. Just having the ability to use the hands free option is enough to overshadow any flaws...
Did you have to "version code" and have "TeleAid" turned on?
I have scheduled an appointment at the dealer for Wednesday morning to have this done (just in case).

dealer did the whole install at once, so i don't know about version coding...when i got it back, it just worked. Good luck!!!

I got the module on Tuesday and it took me 5 minutes to install. I was so thrilled when the system "took over" my audio system I could hardly contain myself. Unfortunately not all of the functions are available yet. I get the message "phone not installed" and I can't really do much with the "favorites"
contacts that show up during a call. Steering wheel controls don't work.
I have an appointment tomorrow to update the audio software and am keeping my fingers crossed that it will work! I will let you know how it goes...
I have called the dealer several times and each time spoken with a different service advisor about the module and nobody knows what I'm talking about, so updating the software doesn't make any sense to them when I ask them to do it. We'll see....

Okay, I went to the dealer this morning and had the phone setting changed to "Fitted". Puck with Tail is working well! I LOVE IT! It allows me to use my steering wheel controls and everything else. Only my favorites are transfered to the car, but that's no big deal.
It even shows who I'm talking to in the multi display on the dash. I'm very excited about this..can you tell?
I didn't have to pay the dealer anything, as I piggy backed the procedure with some warranty work, so it all worked out - and for free.
Thanks to all of you that helped me with the proper procedures for this great feature to work.

I think the "favorites" thing only applies to Palm PDA Smartphones, which have a favorites feature in addition to contacts. I believe that Pocket PC's work on a windows platform, which is totally different from Palm software.
You may need to put the puck w/ tail back in "discovery mode" by pressing the blue button for about 3 to 5 seconds until it begins to flash rapidly. Then have your phone pair up to it by following instructions. You will need to have the puck's key code which is written on the sticker on the back of it.
This procedure will possibly reload your contacts...
