Well, a few days ago I went to start my car and the thing started shaking like it was only running on 4 or 5 cylinders... Pretty violent shaking, and the check engine light came on!!!

Anyway, had it towed to the dealership today... We'll see what happens

From reading here, it seems owners change their oil every year. And according to the manual brake fluid replacement is recommended every 2 years among other various inspections....

Really sorry to hear about your car. Good thing is that she's brand new, so they'll take care of her. Please keep us posted as to what happened. Tks.

Sorry for the old thread revival but did anyone else read this? Is your lease with a different finance co. or with MBUSA? Cause with MBUSA you are "required" to have your maint. done at a MB dealership. Service A (15k miles) is $399 plus tax and fees. If you don't get that done and have documentation of it at lease end you'll be fined a $500 service charge to turn the car in, in addition to any excess mileage, damage, and of course the $599 vehicle turn in fee they charge you anyway. After I figured up how much I'd be paying the dealership for service A and B I decided it was cheaper not to do them, and just pay the damn $500 fee at the end of the lease.

Conversely BMW would have paid all my routine service bills for me, but they weren't willing to negotiate on the price of their 5 series, at all. Even with the fees at lease end I'm still paying less overall for the MB.
