What does everyone think of this shift knob?

Hey guys,
Anyone have this shift knob and, if so, do you like it?
How do you think it would look? Any other shift knob ideas?
Thanks!

I've had that knob for 1.5 years but in black birds eye maple. I am happy with it. It's a b*tch to install if you have the leather boot that has the knob integrated into it. You have to cut the boot and there are no installation instructions. Even my dealer, Park Place where you saw it online didn't know how to do it. I figured it out and eventually also did one for a buddy.

Hey Vik888-
I thought you may have a unique perspective on that shift knob since you like using knobs for pleasure during your free time???

I notice your sig says 211, and the interior in your pic looks like a Sports Pkg equipped car, but it has a W/S Transmission Program button on the console. All the 211's I've seen have S/C on the button. How come... unless its a 5 speed and thats what the buttons say on the 5 vs 7 speeds.

Barry,

I wanna say the early 2003 W211's had the S/C button. Oh, and didn't the early ones also have the 5sp like you mentioned? Can't remember.

It's a 2003 E320 Sport mfd in Jan 2003, delivered April 2003. I never knew my button was any different. The tranny is original.

So, 7 speed or 5 speed? www.nctd.com says that 2003's got the 5 speed while the 2004's and newer got the 7 speeds.

According to the data card I got from Konigstiger awhile back, I got the 5spd so that sounds right.

...and I don't care what they say... The 7 speed transmission is the smoothest operating as a 6 speed. ...If you leave it in "C" mode. Never a rough 1-2 or 2-1 shift. Oh yeah, there is no "1" in "C". Wait till the "cool" weather & check it out (if you live in a "cool weather" State).
