mp3 only reads up to first 99

mp3 only reads up to first 99

the new e350 mp3 player only reads up to the first 99 songs? Is there anyway to read anything else beyond that?

You need to make folders.. So instead of putting all your music on a CD put it in folders by artist.

Andrew is right,before I found this out, I would always wonder why my MP3 cd would go back to one after 99. Not to be facetious, but do you know how to create folders as he described???

ruffrob,

i use nero and usually just burn everything as a data file. I'm not too sure if I know how to make folders. please advise.

Create folders on your PC's desktop,
drag & drop the individual tracks into whatever folders you want to,
when completed with the dragging of the tracks, open your burner utility and drag the folders into the "add (music) files" dialog box,
BURN the new disc.

The six-disc changer only reads up to 99 MP3 files. More recent ones read WMA files too, but only to 99 also. The single-disc COMAND drive will read more than 99. Why the lunacy?

Someone explained that this 99 files limit comes from the CD interface standard and should apply elsewhere too. But I'm not familiar with any of these details. Haven't even tried but is the DVD-capable drive able to read more than 99 tracks from a CD disc?

CD disc with MP3 files, yes.

Apparently, DVD too in some cars, but I've not tried it with mine (which I'm told has the DVD drive).

i made folders and burned them on a cd, but when I place it in the cd changer, it doesnt recognize the folders. Only reads 1-99 still. Is there a function I have to enable?

I'm using Nero Express to create folders. Should I just create them on my desktop and drag into a "data file" in Nero Express?

No function I'm aware of. What you describe is SOP.
