04 E500 - Front shocks

Hey guys

I'm in the process of replacing a blown front shock on a 04 E500 with Airshocks...Because it seemed so easy to do I bought one and decided to install it my self since the dealer wanted 2500 to install it......The problem is now that the car still wont rise up it sits low as hell.. I was wondering is there anything inside the car that needs to be reset once you install a new shock? I noticed on the new one that on the air spring part of it, it has a bar code and some radio wave looking thing with a serial number.. the serial number isn't the same as the blown one? could that be the problem?

Thanks
Josh

No need to work inside the car or reset something. How did you conclude that the original shock was blown in the first place? Did you hear it leaking air?

Do all other wheels level properly? Could be an issue with the pressure lines or the control valve.

By the way, you should not let pressure in while the car is standing on wheels. The strut should be fully extended when first inflated.

I concluded that the shock and spring where blown because my mom(who owns the car) calls me saying her car is saying it is "low" so she gets home and the driver front is tucked into the fender and it is leaking oil from the shock..and when it tried to rise you would hear air just leaking out of it...

I did I set it up in the air while air was pumped into itand then lowered it and it went strait to the ground..I concluded
