What to do while you're waiting for your car to be built...
 

While I'm waiting for my wife's E350 4matic wagon to be built, I bought a white star emblem from DFWDude, and also the plastic pedestal and stand-up star. I decided the ivory-colored base didn't look automotive enough, so I painted it silver metallic.

I primed it with two coats of quick-dry grey primer, then after about 1/2 hour of drying time, I gave it numerous coats of Rustoleum metallic silver spray paint, which can be re-coated every few minutes. The final look is kind of like a dull aluminum finish.

Only 11 Weeks to go!

When I ordered the car, the salesman said it would be in by mid-March. I called last week to see if he had a build date, and he said March 30 and that he'd have the car on April 15, which I know is not possible. So, it looks like you're exactly right -- about 11 more weeks.
