The Norton looks like the old Triumph bikes of the same era, right? Maybe like the Bonneville or the SS?

Yes, the Norton Commando was a British 750cc twin similiar to the large Triumphs and BSAs (750cc was a big bike back then. The only thing larger was a Harley touring bike).

I am, done Iron Butts on BMWs and harleys, have BMW medallion for 100K miles ridden and close to getting one for harleys, matter of fact I'm riding down to daytona Florida in a week for Bike Week, run you going down???
