New style chrome key for keyless go?
I did a search, been here for a long time and know how it works, lol. I see that a few have had good luck in purchasing the new style key and it working with their keyless go, like Sandoval for example (see I knew this from searching!). I can't seem to find the part number though so I can order through oempartsdirect where I got my last new style key for my W210 E55. Can anyone help lead me in the right directions and/or provide the part number please? Thanks!

You could call your local dealer's parts department. They can look it up with your VIN and provide you with the part number. Keys are typically only ordered by VIN so without providing that to your parts vendor I am unsure how they could order it for you.

All of this I know because I ordered the new style chrome key for my previous 01 W210 E55. I was just wondering if anyone had the part number so I could just order the key through oempartsdirect. I'll call the stealer and get the part number. Thanks...

Anyone?
Does anybody know the new part number for a new KG keyless go smart key for a W211?
I have searched everywhere for this information and still have no clue.

A new worldwide MB anti-theft policy went into effect at MBUSA NOV08. This policy has specific requirements for ordering and delivery of theft-related parts (TRPs). It is now mandatory for the dealer to install electronic keys, electronic ignition switches, and infrared and other locking control units.

Clearly I can call my dealer.
While it is obvious that I must call my dealer.
I'll ask the question again.
DOES ANYONE KNOW THE PART NUMBER FOR A KEYLESS GO KEY?
Please do not answer my question with a statement of what I must do.
Please answer my question with a part number.
Any other response only serves to illustrate the futility of trying to gather useful information on this site.
Thanks for your kind attention to my request.

And that part number again is?
Can anyone, who does not have the skin of an infant, provide a part number.
While I appreciate the kind words of those trying to guide me to my dealership, I would appreciate the reply of anyone with usable information.
My simple request has been turned into a holy war.
I have spent far too much money at my dealership over the years to once again be duped into thinking that I have to go to them for a part number.
While I realize they will have to program my key, they may not be the actual dealer who takes my order.
Thanks for understanding that not every owner of a luxury vehicle likes to be ripped off by someone with an agenda.
Konigstiger has provided excellent advice over the years that I have been on this forum. I truly appreciate all that he has done for members here.
But, I have already read the COUNTLESS posts about what I need to do in order to acquire a new KG key.
What I have not been able to find is the actual part number.
So I ask again, does anyone know the KG part number?
I will be buying this part from a dealer NOT FROM ANYWHERE ELSE.
Knowing the part number allows me to buy it from ANY dealer without spending 2 days on the phone.
Do I have to wrap this request in bubble wrap for those with thin skin?

The problem is that I cannot find information.
The solution you have found for me, thanks by the way, is to give me even more useless information.
If only a 'parts guy' would respond.
May be if I wanted to order some 20" chrome rims, I would get some information. Or wait, maybe a CF grille?
But, heavens to betsy, I want a part number for, wait for it....
my car.

Jabo,
Not to throw more fuel on the fire but .. your response to those trying to help you was inconsiderate ...
Having said that .. I'm also in need of a replacement key. The dealer told me they don't program the keys anymore .. once you come in and provide proof of ownership thye order the key and it comes in pre-programed. They don't carry them in stock and takes about a few days .. not sure if this is true but nonetheless you HAVE to deal with the stealership ..
I understand your trying to get a part number so you can shop around ... but you still need to call around for a price .. wether you give them a part number or just ask for a new key .. the amount of time it will take to get quote is the same. They still have to punch it up. In fact .. since they probably get these requests quite often they already know the price off the top of their heads.

I have to agree with dvmak -- Jabo your comments are inconsiderate. I did call the parts dept at our local MB dealer, and have received a similar response to dvmak -- they were reluctant to give me the part number for the key. If this is incorrect I'd like to know, but insulting other members isn't really the way to go.

Thanks for your responses
If you go back and read my comments you'll see that I never insulted anyone
I simply pressed for more information
Those that interjected were the ones with insults

Jabo,
From my service advisor:
"209-766-15-06-9999
these do come programmed from Benz, they are not reprogrammable, so need to be vin-specific. If you buy one from Ebay it will never work, just an fyi."
The ebay comment is his not mine.

Thanks philfna.
While I do appreciate your efforts, I have gone to my local MB dealer to get the answer and his part number differs, probably due to VIN range.
For MY VIN Range:
For Keyless GO:
Blade: 203-766-01-06-9999
KG Key: 211-766-18-06-9999
Please be aware that due to YOUR VIN probably being from a different range, you will certainly want to contact your Dealer to get the right part number. The typical variance in the part number would be where mine is 18 yours might be 28 or 38 or more.
My car was one of the first to come over in December of '02 and so was from a very early batch of 211s
Please be aware that the price, from a dealer, should total approx $350.00 for both blade and key. Also note that keys bought on ebay will be worthless. I share this with you because it is true, and it is also the usual reason people are so incredibly reluctant to share part numbers for keys on this forum.
I hope this information can be found useful, and want to further commend those that jumped to whatever conclusions they may have had about my prior requests for information.
Next time an adult asks a question, please pay him the complement of not expecting him to be a spineless nitwit who has never read a forum before.
Patronizing fellow forum members is so lame.
We all come here to learn, not to be told that we should just do X.
Konigstiger, while it may appear that I had something to say directly to you, I did not have that intent, please accept whatever apologies I can offer, as I am plainly aware of the extraordinary contribution you have devoted to this site in the years I have been here.
To all others with various opinions, thanks for making them so clear and fully ignoring my original request for information.
Even after I clearly stated my request, further useless posts followed.
I was not trolling, I was asking for help.
What fascinates me is that I had to actually go to a dealer to get this simple piece of information.
Thanks for all the help.

I posted what I spent the time to learn so that EVERYONE would know WHY they need to go to the dealer.
Would you not consider that what I offered is far more valuable?
And so I have done what little I can to help others learn.
Before my last post, what had anyone learned?
As for the life lesson, are you freaking serious?
Nobody here is yoda ( fictional character yes, I know. ), why should I want to learn a lesson from them?
Free is the information I provided.
Expensive is the time it took me to gather it.
Worthless is the information provided prior.
My attempt at yoda style lesson delivery is complete.
