Gas: Is Regular just as Premium?

As stated above, my MB tech here also said that when you put lower octane the engines "adjusts" for the lower octane fuel. He said it doesn't hurt it but what a waste on performance. I agree that that is like putting on cheap tires. I would be embarrassed to be seen pumping regular in my E500.

A couple of months back, a family friend of mine that worked on benzes for over 15 years told me that the regular is ok for the car. He also said that the engine will adjust to the lower octane, but you would lose much performance power. He then went on to say that I probably wouldn't need to fill up premium in my E320 because I would not need the performance on regular roads. I didn't say anything and just smiled 
. He didn't say anything. After that, I don't think he'll let his two daughters ride with me anymore

Even though I trust his judgement and knowledge, still would not fill regular in my two babies, just not worth the risk to me for $4 difference on a fillup. Oh, and for the record, no Arco (heard something about they mix to much water) or off brand names. I prefer Chevron over everything.

Fuel brand really does not make a difference, its all a bunch of marketing BS. Take it from me I own several gas stations and exotics, gas is gas. If I put "off brand" 91 in my F40 and it runs great, im pretty sure your E320 will be ok.
