Aren't the 2008's LED lights? The 2003 are the lifelong gas bulbs right? Would that even work in a 03? I never removed the taillghts, but im just wondering if they will work. Ampere/watts/voltage (whatever) are the same? Sorry, i dont mean to be ****, just asking. Good luck either way, the LED's are real sleek.

I have the newer taillights 07s, I think. They are LEDs and they are very simple to change out. They are plug_and_play. The LED brake light part uses the same power as the filament bulb, so there is no error. The LEDs are much, much brighter and very easy to see in the sunlight.

You just need s little bit of patience to figure out how much of the plastic trim to remove, then a deep socket wrench and some tact. It took me about 40 minutes to change them out (taking my time to clean everything to make sure the seals would stay water tight).

I decided to get the 07 lights instead of the 04s that I had because the dealer had them in stock. I have since gotten used to the new taillights and I kind of like them better. The LEDs are superb and I like the fact that the corner brake lights turn on just as quickly as the trunk mounted LED center brake light.

Just little things,

Steve

Aside from the fact that you don't know what they look like on your car, as you pointed out, I would have the following questions:

1) The amber blinker only has one bulb. OEM lights have two. Will this cause any issues or is that one of the functions of one of those boxes in the picture? If one of the OEM bulbs burns out, the MFD will say blinker out, back up bulb on. The backup light in this case is the second bulb that should still work. So, this safety/redundant feature is nullified.

2) The lower "parking lights" on the driver's side of all Es are also the rear fog, this is done because the two bulbs are already dimmed and the bus simply sends full voltage to them to make them brighter and use them as a fog light. What do these LEDs do what the rear fog is turned on?

3) I might be wrong here, but most LEDs like these are about 1 watt each. The OEM brake bulb is about a 21 watt bulb, the OEM LED brake lights have 21 LEDs in the brake light section. This makes the LED cluster draw the same wattage and not send an error to the computer. I don't see that many in these aftermarket lights, could this be a problem? Perhaps those boxes are rectifying the draw.

4) So, if those boxes are doing the draw equalization, what happens when a blinker or reverse light bulb on this fixture burns out? Does the message even work? What if the box is what fails and needs to be replaced.

This is what tends to come to mind,

Steve

Actually, they are pretty nice to look at... but then again, I think the '07-'08 tail lights are a little garish with that huge white expanse in the middle. The '03-'06 lights were finer looking in my opinion.

just put the tailights in no modifications required just remove old one and install the new one it took more time to get to the light then to install and they look great.
