'05 E500 - Erratic Turn Signals

'05 E500 - Erratic Turn Signals
Here's a new one - and a search didn't turn up any hits.
Occasionally, when I flip the TS lever to turn right, the left indicators flash. Ditto the other way.
Additionally, occasionally when the TS (right or left) is on and the turn is completed and the TS self cancels, the opposite side will flash 3 times. Seems when the lever is automatically released it jumps past it's center position as activates the 3 flash feature.
Anyone have any insights?

I haven't encountered that before. While stopped, if you were very carefully to move the TS arm one way or another, the opposite side still comes on? If you can demo it, can you go to your local service center and show them?
