Softstop and SBC

Has anyone actually felt the soft stop feature work? I've got 1000 miles and I still can't seem to make a smooth stop. The sbc brakes are pretty touchy and I always seem to cause a slight jerk right before I stop. Is there a trick to stopping smooth in this thing? Maybe I'm just used to my other car with normal brakes, but if anyone can enlighten me, please feel free...

Have the car for a little more than 3 months, the feeling is: smooth stop is achievable, it just takes time to get use to the SBC nature; however, the SBC is too effective, once your car is full stop, then you release the brake, it will not like other auto-shift cars that start to roll without stepping on the gas-paddle. It just stop there even you relesae the brake. (just need to get use to it)

Strange, but I haven't noticed that the brakes are much different than normal. Maybe smoother. Others that have driven my car have had the same problems you are describing. I don't think that I changed anything when braking.

What do you mean when you say you can take your foot off from the brake after you come to a complete stop?

When I test drove the E320, I also felt at first that the car does not 'creep' forward when the brakes are released. When I got back to the dealer lot, I tested it again and, in fact, the car does 'creep' forward ever so slightly.

When I took delivery of my car, it had the usual 'creep' that you find in any car with an auto transmission. I think this is normal and I don't know why your car does not do so.

Back to the original question:

The soft stop feature works and it works quite well. The brakes modulate a few times just before coming to a complete stop. It takes some getting used to but I find that I still need to lift my foot off the pedal just before the spot where I want to make a full stop.
