A question and a few pics to see if you like!

Hi guys, i have a question... My car is shaking in iddle, its like the motor is making it shake more than normal? Anyone know what it could be? Are there any like rubber things holding the motor that deteriorate with time and need changing?

Looking good!

I think your problem is the motor mounts. IIRC, it's a common problem with the earlier W211's

At what mileage/age can you normally expect motor mounts failing (a rough idea)?

I think it's really dependant on the location of the car... sure, rubber loses it's
elasticity over time, but if you add salt to the equation (like here in Toronto),
then the lifespan is definitely shorter.

Mine does the same thing, a little rough at idle, but not all the time.

I'm having a bit of a hard time buying into the notion that a failed engine mount will cause the engine to shake more at idle. Seems to me that if the engine were running correctly at idle (fuel pressure, clean injectors, ignition system, no vacuum leaks, sensors within tollerance, etc) the engine would idle smoothly, even if sitting on solid mounts.

Mine were replaced at 35-39K miles, If I remember correctly.

replaced because they had to be?
or because you wanted to?

that sounds awfully soon... that's less than 3 years of driving.
I would expect the engine mounts to last at least 5 years...?

They were replaced under warranty because of a rough idling problem. There's a DTB out for this, I believe.

Nice rims! I have just put on the dbl spokes like what you used to have
and was excited but after seeing yours, makes me wish I went for
your style or the new E63s car color is techtite grey? )

Thanx for the comments guys,, yea its pretty rainy, just washed my car for the pics, and 10 minutes later, it starts rainig!!

yea its tactite grey....!

ok, so change motor mounts, is that labor intensive? Expensive parts included?

apx. 100 for the mounts and apx 100-200 in labor depending on how many are bad recommend switching both and check the Tranny mount as well usually go bad about the same time its a little cheaper about 50 for the mount .
