Question Questions about W211 E Class

I just purchased a Brilliant Silver E500 and I have some questions that I could not find the answers to in the owner's manual.

1. I have the drive dynamic seats option and I noticed that when I turn the feature on in the passenger's seat it will automatically shut off once I leave and return to the vehicle. This is not the case on the driver's side. Does anyone know how I can leave this on all the time??

2. I had multiple MBZ with the multifunction steering wheel and one of the things that I loved best was flipping through my presets. I noticed that this new "state of the art" no longer has this feature. Am I missing something?? How can I get this feature?

Thanks!!

I can't help on item 1, but on item 2 the preset scan is not longer on the steering wheel buttons, it's just a regular "seek". Previously, you could choose to scroll through either presets or all stations, as you noted.

I can help!

I can help on number one.

I too had that problem. Here's how to fix it:

Put someone in the passenger seat.

Easy, huh?

It only works when someone's sitting in it.

I used to cup my hand over the AVS-DD to see if the red light was on. If I pushed it, it would only blink, not stay on like the driver's seat did. I mentioned it when I went in for some other items at Service, and they told me the secret, lol. I felt kinda dumb.

--edited---Now I feel doubly dumb because I didn't fully read your question before jumping in to answer it. The answer is no. I don't know how to make it stay on when no one is sitting in it, or how to make it default to the "on" position when someone sits in it.

Sorry.

Don't understand why they would switch preset buttons to seek buttons - nobody uses freaking seek buttons anymore, or at least not that frequently. Maybe someone will create an aftermarket way of changing them to preset buttons...

Of course, I don't have either because I STILL DON'T HAVE MY CAR!!

Thanks for the info. I suppose that if these are my two biggest complaints about the car so far I'm driving a pretty nice vehicle. Oh yeah....I also tried putting on a badge or medallion (not sure what it's called) replacing the traditional hood ornament but it does not lay completely flush on the hood. The parts guy said the it was designed for the SL500 and was the only part that fit. Perhaps I'm being ****, but does anyone know how I can get rid of the gap?? Thanks again
