Adding options after build?
I ran a search but did not come up with the answer I was looking for...
How feasible is it to add options post build/delivery? I know it would really depend on what I was trying to add. Some (BT, iPhone, etc.) are easy but others I'm not so sure about. Example:I do not have rear side window blinds but would like them now
It seems there is ample door space and the place for the switch is already there.
Any ideas or suggestions? Would that be very expensive? Is it even possible (are the doors pre-wired but lack the blind/mechanism and switch?) Or is the whole idea just ridiculous?

Its Possible to add most ANYTHING post purchase on the W211
re the rear door shades you will need
2 replacement door panels and upper mounting clips
they are manual so no wiring is required
Contact Steve @ MBENZNL.com he has done several of them along with most any other mod you might want

Interesting thing about the rear side window shades.
It's a $300 option on a new W211.
It will cost you about $2K to retrofit them. Maybe less if you can sell the old door panels, but I wouldn't count on that.

They used to sell snap-in (not roll-up) side window shades as an accessory for a couple of hundred dollars, but I couldn't find it in the latest accessory catalog. Check with your dealer, or if he doesn't have it listed, check the European accessory catalog in the Mercedes UK web site.
