E500 Erratic Wiper
I have a 2003 E500. Last night while driving in the rain the wipers just shutdown, and the blades retracted into the well, as if I turned them off. I tried to turn the switch on and off but it did nothing. Pressing the washer switch also did nothing.
I left the switch on auto setting and continued to drive. A few minutes later they came on and shut down again afer a few wipes. Again, this time turning the switch did not yield any results, but this time pressing the washer switch would spray water onto the windshield.
Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Exactly what happened to me. The stalk turn signal switch went bad. It's about $100-$120. To install you have to remove the steering wheel and all the things behind it. It's the last part left! LOL. Search the forums for removing the steering wheel and i think i may have posted something on this before that may help. I dunno if i'm just unlucky, but my SRS airbag sensor came up. I haven't fixed it since.
