I need you!! Yes you! I am requesting that anyone with a 2007-2008 MY E350 4-Matic who can make it to Race Technologies @ 1590 Sunland Lane in Costa Mesa (http://www.racetechnologies.com/) during normal business hours at their earliest possible convience. I will see if they are also available on weekends to make things easier for potential participants. I need your 2007/8 E350 4Matic for Race Technologies (who work directly with Brembo) to take exact measurements of the 4Matic brake system. Brembo has agreed to go ahead with production of a 4Matic brake application for our vehicles assuming they can get a donor vehicle to take preliminary measurements to send to Italy. They asked for one firm order, which of course will be mine, but I can't supply my car for the necessary measurements which will take approx. 4 hrs. Since I really want this done, I am offering the following:

1. I will pay participant for one full tank of gas to get your vehicle to the Race Technologies. (up to $65.00)
2. I will pay participant $50 dollars an hour, for every hour the car is being used for measurements.
3. If applicable, I will offer a 5% discount on the 4Matic brake kit for the participating vehicle if they so wish to purchase one. (would only apply up to one year following the offer)

If you know ANYONE who owns an late model E class 4Matic and would be willing to particpate please contact me via PM. Even if you aren't interested in purchasing a Brembo 4Matic brake kit, consider your fellow forum members and the potential to make a few quick bucks! I have a great track record here on MBworld.org and have many references with regard to successful transactions made here on the boards.

With regards to payment:
I only ask that the participant have a verified paypal I.D. as this would be my perferred method of payment.
A side note, if you are considering being the participant, but your commute to the destination would take over an hr or more each way, I would also consider compensating you for your time on the road, so please contact me for further details.
Finally, I want potential participants to know that NOTHING will be taken apart or off of your vehicle besides possibly the wheels. That is it! Your brakes will not be taken apart and examined or anything like that! You can stay with the car while they take the measurements, or go shopping with the few hundred bucks you just made off of my craziness! Either way, you really can't loose!

this is only for 2007 and up? 2006 and older 4matics are out of luck?

 

For the brake kit? No not necessarily. Glad to see that you are interested! I am just not 100% sure the braking systems on the 4matic W211's have changed from 2003 to now. I drive a 2008 so I requested a 2007-2008 to make sure it is exactly what I have. However, it is very possible that the older model 4Matic braking systems are the same, the problem is I just don't know...rather be safe than sorry. Anyway, the 4Matic lowering springs that I'm helping to produce w/ Vogtland will be 100% compatible with 2003-2009 MY W211's. I will do my best to ensure that the brake kit is available to all as well, but I need someone to help me out with this!!

 

any updates? my front brakes are going and I would love to replace them with a brembo bbk

 

I also want to note that the 07+ E350 4matics with sport pkg had different calipers than the non sports. I doubt Mercedes would have used two different spindles but just wanted to throw it out there.

 

No updates as of yet. It is proving difficult to find anyone in CA with a 4Matic E class as there isn't much need for them out there. Please help me find somebody so we can make this happen! If I had more time I would ship my own car out there but right now I just can't. Anyone have any dealer connections in the Costa Mesa area who might be able to help us out with this?

Its not a bad idea. I considered it myself, I think it is probably worth looking into being as there is little to no chance to get one out to Race Technologies but I feel they would be skeptical about putting something into production based on a customers measurements so idk. I'll have to look into it further.

 

i just thought of a potential problem with 03-06 4matics vs the 07-09's...SBC, i wonder how that would affect braking

Jerry at Race Technologies has a buddy with an 03 or 04 E320 4M. Its a start for the measurement aspect anyhow, but Brembo does want to produce these and are waiting for specs at this point so it'll be Brembo

I would have to assume they are measuring for both, but frankly I'd be fine with just fronts.

 

Just curious why Brembo can't get brakes specification directly from MB?
