audio command won't start
any Idea ,
proud owner of a 2003 E 500 as I took my car for my regular ride , the audio command system would not start. it will show MB logo then shut off again vehicle not equipped with phone & cd changer phone system only pre wired :word: |
This should mean an issue with the MOST fibre ring. Even if you would not have a CD changer, you would have a few devices on the MOST ring, like the AGW (I guess you mean phone prewiring in the real meaning, just wiring but no phone control unit, otherwise the phone control unit could have been one likely issue).
You might want to try to reset the AGW by pulling the fuse for a moment (should be a temporary solution only and sometimes does not help at all). |
thank you
For what fuse and location name should I look for
Thank you again for your help |
Remove both fuse #28 (15A) located in driver’s side interior panel and #6 for Audio Gateway (AGW) in rear SAM simultaneously https://mbworld.org/forums/2749046-post2.html , wait a minute or two, then reinstall hopefully reset will occur - common resolves:
- Another device in the MOST-ring may be causing the problem - COMAND may need update - AGW may need update or replacement - Headunit may need replacement Dealer, independent, or anyone with SDS access can diagnose MOST-ring and retrieve stored fault codes confirming AGW update/replacement or headunit replacement. DIY COMAND update purchase service update disc/special tool 211589162200 MSRP $12 (dealer or online): - Power up headunit, select radio (make sure CD player is empty) - Press and release key combination 1, 3, and 8 simultaneously - When prompted, insert service disc - Wait until headunit detects disc, id prompted to accept update press “OK” hardkey - When update is complete, the headunit will eject disc remove wait, as the headunit will automatically reboot |
thank you very much partner ,
did the thing with the fuse it did reset it and will bring the car in for update two thumbs ups |
Same thing happened to me this week.. The problem lasted for about two days and then all of a sudden the radio started working again like normal. Everything has been OK since then... Hopefully it doesn't happen again - no radio during a roadtrip was torture...
:wootrock: |
Exact same happened to me two weeks ago. Don't know the exact reason.
I just pulled the battery and let the comand reset itself. |
