OK, let's compare features (E320).

OK, there were few members here interested in comparing prices, so maybe we can compare features instead?

I am interested in at features come standard in various countries. I get the impression we get quite a few here (Canada) and even more in the US. But I might be wrong.

WHAT!?!!? cheaper and with more options... it seems like people will be going to Canada now to buy their mercs. Just curious, how much tax do you pay in Canada...does this compensate for the slight price reduction?

nyckillaseal Feb 20, 2003 12:09 AM

OK! what are the options that they get standard in Canada and we don't in U.S? What am i missing here????!??

northbenz Feb 20, 2003 04:28 AM

On the E320 looks like leather, metallic paint, 4 zone air conditioning and sunroof are all included in base price whereas in US they have to be paid for on top so that 5,000 dollar price difference ends up being closer to $8,000.

mwillems Feb 20, 2003 07:23 AM

Correct on the features.

Tax is 8% + 7% here, so for sure that accounts for some price difference. But yes, we do get rather a lot of features as standard. It's because we don't earn as much I presume - price has to be competitive vs. other options.

When you buy here they make you sign a legal form for prohibiting export!

I believe it also icludes a fire extinguisher under the driver's seat.

nope, it is a lot cheaper in canada like you guys said, but you cant transport the car for one full year, but, i have heard that i you want a cheap price, call a dealer in canada, and ask for one of thier test drive cars, i guess the law doesnt care for those?

The first aid kit is under the passenger's seat and the fire ex. is under the driver's seat.
