Yes I once saw an E class slam into a couple of old bags at the supermarket. No damages luckily. I don't think the driver hit anything after market. On a more serious note.....What is this "slamming" you guys are referring to? I hope it has nothing to do with using your w211's in a demolition derby.

Hey bud, thanks for the welcome.
Is that your e class there ? Nice ... Dad had one and it was real smooth for a 97.
How big are those mags ? they look like 19s.

Thanks man and you're welcome. Yes, they are 19s, nothing extreeme of aggressive for say just 19x8.5 all around 35offset. 25mm spacers on the rears and soon I'll be stuffing a 10,12 or maybe 15mm up front
I love the W210s, mine is a 99. But thanks.

"slamming" is just lowering your car REALLY LOW. No wheel gap at least, preferably tucking tire into the fender/wheel well, or even tucking the wheel's lip and in some cases even tuckin LUGGNUTS

damm thats quite a bit, i would have thought you could get away with a 25mm spacer on the rear. Bolt on i assume ? I suppose you can with 8.5 width.

yeah i saw yours was a 99, sorry i meant my dads was smooth and for its age (97) it was real smooth.

...not so much, just got it flush w/ the fender, I originally wanted the rears w/ 2inch lips on all four corners but the sales guy was "sure" that I wouldn't be able to fit the rears up front w/ any ammount of fender roll, pull or stretch so I went w/ fronts all around and just wanted to kill off the mini trucker tuck look on the rears, but now I gotta flush out the fronts - stretched rubber next.
It's all good, I knew what you meant - don't gotta explain youself to me

Yeah, but that's just because it's kinda the same machined face look, personally I like the spoke design because no matter how they roll they will look semetrical compared to a 5 star design where say the front wheel could be pointed at 12:00 and the rear could be pointed at 6:00 or 10:00 and 2:00 etc, etc...just my OCD. Either set up is

btw anyone know how 20x10 with 35 offset would sit in the front of a w211 ? looks like rim will be just on the edge but i figured with the right rubber and height it might not touch ? :P

Thanks for the response. Is there a performance enhancement from doing this or is it cosmetic?

I'm not 100% sure, but a 10 on the front of a lowered W211 might be too wide, even if running stretch....unless you plan on doing fender work. I think a 9.5 front with stretch tires and a fender pull may work.

I do like my current wheels, but wanted a change in look. We'll see how things come out...

Or, since you like my old rims...they will be for sale once the new ones are on

There IS a performance enhancement when you lower your car, up to a certain point. Once you go past that, it's just for looks. People who slam their car basically lose that performance enhancement because you lose the suspension travel. Lowering a car on airmatic probably has minimal performance gains anyway....

prob less haha, i bought the 19" brabus reps for around 350 usd with tyres. albeit not 100% straight and with chips here and there and some cheap chinese rubber, cant beat that for value. tyres need to change soon though. Should tie me in till i get something decent.
