Engine noisy
I've noticed my 320 engine is quite noisy/loud for a Benz vs our 02 CL500 has a nice deep not too loud tone to it. Mostly during accelerations and such (even decelerations, it's weird). Usually have the music pretty loud so won't hear it but, I had a a friend make a comment recently about it when we went out to dinner (and she drives an i4 acura tsx). I've driven 350's and the engine sounds little quieter but with a nicer deeper tone vs loud and higher pitched like the 320. Anyone else realized this or it's just me??? Anything I can do about it???

I think that's fairly normal for these cars as they age. The bearings and pulleys attached to front of the engine are under a lot of tension. Since mechanical moving parts do wear over time, they get noiser. Also the lifters in the engine also wear with mileage and they tend to get louder. You can change all the tensioners and pulleys if you want your car quieter, i.e. spending lots of $$$$. I've heard from people who change engine oil every 5k mi, i.e. reducing wear on internal engine parts, and reported less noise from the engine. That's also another reason many people like to buy cars new if they want to keep the cars for >10 yrs -- change oil every 5k-8k mi and keep the engine running like new. Most used or CPO cars have oil change every 10k-15k mi intervals.

My car is also a V6 (exact same color as yours) with an even smaller engine, so I also feel like it's quite whiny at low RPMs. I feel that is due to the exhaust being so quiet, I've ordered Magnaflow mufflers, let's see how that affects the overall sound. Will be posting results soon.
