I am confused about replace the coolant

Hi! everyone..
I have a 2006 e350(w211) 63000 miles now
I want to replace the coolant. but I checked some thread
W211 coolant replace interval is 15years or 1500000 miles.
Also I found this article.
Is it true?
So I must wait 9 years or 90000 miles ?
Please help me . I am confusing...
Thank you very much
I ordered MB coolant 1 gallon.

The coolant is in fact blue/dark green, the coolant must remain in the cooling system for the specified interval. There is a silica pack in the coolant tank that maintains proper additive levels for the life of the coolant. MB uses "HOAT" coolants and have absolutely nothing in common with the "change the coolant every year" types (IAT/OAT) that went away with the Jurasic period of automotive technology

I strongly suggest NOT opening the system or adding anything to the system. If your engine tells you that the coolant level is low then add ONLY distilled water and always consult the owners manual.

Coolant changes are peformed every 140,000 miles and not any sooner. When the coolant is new it reacts with the engines metals forming a protective layer and achieving a balance in Ph. Adding coolant or changing it early throws off the balance and can cause increased corrosion due to the change in initial Ph of new coolant.

Don't worry, be happy.

MB engineers know more than you.

I am skeptical that any fluid would be good for 15 years

Why don't you send a sample to Staveley and get it analyzed:

This based on your PhD in Chemistry?

No, it is based on a blind faith put in MB engineers who chose such marvels as SBC and the valeo radiator for your e-class.

Your name isn't Walt, is it? Do you teach high school chemistry and run a 'side business'? If so, I will take your word for it.

I would change the coolant at 100k mi. Aluminum engine blocks are not as rustic as the old generation iron blocks. BMW recommends coolant change every 4 yrs. MB has been playing around with the numbers game for a few years now. Not long ago, they said the tranny fluid was lifetime that never needs to be changed, then back down to 100k mi, and now 40k mi. The oil change interval was around 15k mi, then back down to 12k mi, and recently they updated the car's software and the oil change interval varies between 9k and 10k mi. If you plan to keep the car for a few more years, I would change the coolant at 100k mi or every 4 yrs. Besides, you should replace the water pump, thermostat, coolant temperature sensor and the two radiator hoses at about 100k mi. The top radiator hose rarely lasts to 150k mi.

15 yr old coolant is good enough to drink as well.

Never heard that people drink coolant, although it has some alcohol as I can guess. Mostly people drink brake fluid. Any way draining and replacing fluids recommended for any car. We do it for oil, but coolant.
