2005 E320 4Matic
Just bought 05 E320 4Matic, a few question

I purchased, yesterday, an 05 E320 4Matic. This is the third MB I have owned, and honestly will never own another make of vehicle. I love everything about MB.

A few questions. Mine did not come with NAV and I am wondering how and how much it would cost to get NAV put in. I would like to keep the factory look to it. Second, can I just add the Bluetooth Module to connect my new iPhone 4? Or is there something else I need? Third, is the iPod Integration kit necessary? Is it that much better than the AUX jack in the glove box? Lastly, I activated the Sirius radio, however there are a number of channels unavailable, like the XM channels that were added to Sirius, is it possible to get this fixed?

Otherwise the vehicle is stunning! Thanks for your help!

Congrats on the new purchase and welcome to the forum. You'll find a lot of helpful info that'll save you tons of money!

Regarding your questions, have you checked ebay for a used NAV unit? Mine came with the NAV so don't have any idea how much it'll cost. Not sure if this will help, but I purchased a NAV unit for my 02 ML 320 on eBay a couple years ago, I paid $430 and installed it myself. My guess is the E NAV unit maybe a little more than what I paid for the ML, hopefully someone here can provide a better price point.

For the Bluetooth, check to see if you have the octagon-shaped plate in the arm-rest console, if so then all you have to do is buy the Bluetooth adaptor (about $150 shipped). The installation is very easy. Be sure to purchase the 2nd generation adaptor instead of the 1st generation so you can download your address book if you have a smart phone/PDA - i.e. Blackberry, iPhone etc.

Here are the part numbers and generation types;
B 6 787 6131 3rd generation (current version, don’t waste your money on this, it does the same thing as the 2nd generation, only difference is size. This is small compared to the 1st/2nd generation ones)
B 6 787 5878 2nd generation (have capability to download your address book if you’re using a PDA/Smart phone type phone – Blackberry/iPhone)
B 6 787 5839 1st generation (will pair the device with your car but if you’re using a PDA/Smart phone, you’ll not be able to download your address book – and have to manually enter the phne details each time)

I don't have a need for the iPod integration piece and don't need XM/Sirius satellite radio. The only radio station I listen to is NPR.

Hope this helps!

2004 E500 4matic Fully Loaded Everything!!!
I must say that Mercedes become very addicting. It's like potato chips...you can't just have one!!! and you need a variety because they are all unique. My next one will have to be an AMG. C-class to E-class to big V-8 E-class to AMG (next)

It's the natural order of progression.... lol

I might be wrong but I don't think the 2005 E-Class is bluetooth compatible. Might want to do a search on this forum to see what others have done.

ALL E-class Mercedes back to about 2000 are bluetooth compatible.

ALL these cars were originally designed (with optional equipment) to operate phone cradles, and Mercedes now offers bluetooth "pucks" to fit the came connectors the cradles fit.
