Am I missing something here?

I just notice that this screen doesn't seem to convey properly what I think it is supposed to convey. Or the lawyers that programmed my Command really need to brush up on their engrish

Yeah... its embarrassing how poorly worded much of the DIC & Comand phrasing is. (Capitalization is screwy for sure!) Its like early Japanese instruction sheets used to be worded...
"Be sure to be are plug in the device not working."

Just be substituting the word "May" with "Must" the phrase becomes a non joke warning.

You'd NEVER see this on a Japanese product anymore: Thank you to be purchasing our proudly produce luxury car of the world. Now to begin enjoy carrier, properly care for fluid level on inspection at Lexus workshop.

If MB would call me, I'd retranslate all of their DIC gibberish.

my car never flashes that 'airbag off' light even when there is no one sitting in the passenger seat so i thought there's a way to do it?

fwiw, it doesn't "flash." If the lamp is not on when the ignition is on, you need to check codes thru SDS or look at your IC's warning. You have a problem. Or put that case of beer you keep on the front seat in the back seat instead.

There is an OCS self-test you can do, if you would just RTFM.

Mine's real, I'm guessing they fixed this bit of engrish with later models?
