HID Upgrade on 03 E500???
Hey guys I recently bought a 2003 E500 but unfortunately it did not have HID's. It has the Halogen Capsule Headlamps and I want to upgrade to HID. I read on the sylvania website that the regular halogen is an H7 bulb and the vehicles that come with HID from factory come with a D2S.
I want to know what HID kit would be the right one for my upgrade in terms of the bulb type I'm not asking about color. Would an HID H7 kit fit the housing? or should I go for a D2S?

You want a H7 HID conversion. If you were to go with OEM mercedes, then yes you would be looking at the D2S setup. I have heard only good things about MTEC and their conversion setup for our cars. They are error free. I will picking up a set hopefully before summers over.
You can get one of the cheaper HID kits but you run the risk of it throwing codes and errors and you would have to trouble shoot it with capacitors and possibly resistors to make it right.
Oh and the easiest way to do the conversion would be to remove the headlight from the car and do the work. Much more space and you won't run the risk of screwing up the bulb and having $70~$80 to buy new bulbs because you touched it or scratched it trying to wiggle it in the cramp space offered with the headlights in the car.
