Thank you for posting all that. I have an '07 E350 Designo Sports P1. I, too, would like to have the parking distance sensors, plus the side rear window blinds. I can live without most of the other doodads.

 

I'm glad you like it Heatwave. I thought I was just being stoopid! Years of th 202 and 203 and 209 forums spoiled me with the wealth of posts. I assumed that it was just because as you work your way up the line you just encounter wealthier members who more likely bought new. So, as long as I'm still stoopid, what's Designo?

Yeah, but what on your car makes it Designo? Espresso or Graphite? I did some searching on BenzWorld, and it seems the designo packages have exclusive paint and interior colors, exclusive wood trim, and extra leather items. What tells you your car HAS the $6400 designo option? Do you have seats like this:

 

Voice Activation seems to be a separate option, because I have a 2007 Sport/P2 and it does not have VCS.

Anyone know how to add it?

 

You will need the VCS control unit and the wand at the steering column
a optic line and labor...I added that to my w211 along with a few other OEM items

Eddie, thanks for posting, but I should note that Mercedes has varied the content of the packages from year to year, and the wagon packages differ from the sedan packages in many cases. Also, the iPod connector was a stand-alone option through and including the 2008 models. At least in 2008, voice activation was not part of the P1 package, but rather a stand-alone option.

 

understood; those packages and prices were specifically for the 2007 MY. What does Voice Activation actually do, BTW? Do you just say "radio" to turn it on or something?

 

I have to say that my 09 E has one of the best voice activation I have used in a car. When you engage the voice acti it give you a list of what you can say on the scree which I think is abosolutly the best!!! On an Acura, well let say you just better memorize what to say from the book and it better be word for word. With MB voice acti you can use it for the navi to say the address instead of typing it in. It is definitely something I can go without with, but it a nice feature since it was with the navi package.
