Went to close trunk on my 2004 E500 and it would close at first but wouldn't open with door button, trunk latch, or remote. Could get it open with key but nothing else-after messing with it for awhile, now it won't latch. All lights work(3rd brake light, license lights, etc) except small light in truck on back of trunk doesn't work. Have the left side of trunk interior parts off-see no broken or frayed wires. Electrical seems fine all stuff works except for that small light-Anyone out there have any clue as to what's going on and how to fix it? Wanted to check fuses but the latch works(makes noise,etc) when you operate with door button,remote,outside latch, etc. Any reason all of the sudden it won't latch?? Thanks
