drb...are those the contact sport Michelins? What would be the model of the "non-soft" Michelin tire. I am trying to get MB to put Michelins on my car instead of the Contis. I don't want the quick wearing tires however.

added: I hope you are getting a "newly built" car and not a "rebuilt" unit

I do not know much of anything about tires, so I cannot answer your question with any authority.
Yes, this is the newly built model.

Please see the Tire forum on this site for more details about tire choices.
And yes, it is totally amazing that they have no information about the NAV at all. It would be nice before one ordered it to have some details. I would assume, and I'm only assuming, that the unit should be very similar to the DVD based NAV in the 2003 S and CL.
I don't know what are they doing, but i suggest you guys call your saleman to make sure that your car has been ordered. This is so ridiculously.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
On May 21st he emailed me that my car is scheduled for production in the first 10 days of July (M-B schedules production in decades of a month) and that they expected it to be delivered to their dealership in Southern California 45 days later - about the end of August.
Not placing an order until a production date is set seems like putting the cart before the horse.
Good luck!
I am still dumb as possible about tire models. I have the ContiTouring Contact CH95 on my car. They really suck. If you look at the survey drb posted the Continentals are dead last (where they should be). The do list them as "CT95 which I assume is the same tire.
Also on that survey there are three michelins MXV4-V (6th highest rated), MXV4 (12th rated) and the XGT4 (20th rated).
What the heck is the difference between these models.
Wish I knew something about tires. I do know that everyone seems to have different opinions about them.

Check out here for Ultra High Performance All-season tires:

For less sporty tires, check out the Grand Touring All-Season category, which shows the Conti's in a much more favorable light (the real CH95's):

Does not make sense, but if anyone knows where I can get one, please let me know.
The one that was for sale here is no longer.
My car is scheduled for delivery the end of August.
My dealer has just informed me that the Wood/Leather Steering Wheel to match the Sport Package cannot be ordered anymore. Anyone know if this is fact? I did not ask for break in price. The NetStar just rejected the order for this steering wheel.

My dealer( General Manager) just contacted me and advised he talked directly with "distribution". He was advised that the "only" tire being shipped on the non-sport E500 is the Continental CH95 (which I really don't like). "They cannnot be changed!" (the quotatations are the dealers quoting MBUSA.)
Sports packages are being shipped with Michelin Pilots and some Goodyears.
Some E320's have Michelin as well as Continentals.
Anyone disagree that this is the way they have been shipped? Maybe all the Michelin Pilots we have discussed were on Sports Models? I did not go with the Sport as I did not care for the black wood trim. I recall that after the options there was less than $1,000 difference between the sport and non-sport.

When I asked about the wood wheel for the E320 I was told by dealer that it is not compatible with the NAV system i.e. wiring/connections
Anyway, the salesperson just called and said the Wood wheel is in the system (Netstar) and on paper.....in combination with Nav.
So, I think your dealer is either full of crap or doesn't know what they are talking about.
