Lowering Links
Hello everyone!
Seems like I have a weird problem with my vehicles ride height. Prior to installing the lowering links I bought, I lowered the car via Star. They did an ok job but for some reason it wasn't level all around and I wasn't feeling the height they did it (too high) I went ahead a bought the lowering links and installed them. Now, to my knowledge, when the front links are shortest, the vehicle should be at it's highest point. (is this correct??) If so, when I have them both the shortest, the front passenger side sits higher than the drivers. So I need to make the passenger side longer to level it out and the car sits very low in the front. Does anyone know why this happens? Here is a picture of how low it is. I want to bring the front up an inch because there's a lot of construction on our south florida highways and I want to keep my front lip :) http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...1000001613.jpg |
I don't have links but I have one washer on my drivers side and three washers on the passenger side to make it sit level. :nix:
P.s I'm lowered by STAR too http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2..._5344498_o.jpg |
toss the links and lower it via star ;) lol

I was talking to a tech who lowers MBs w/SDS and he said even after installing links, it needs to be adjusted w/SDS to get it exact.

Thanks man :) |
They don't look that low at all. Hardly noticeable.
Gus, do you know who can align the car and adjust the camber all around?? |
That's bc you didnt see the cars before and after and like I said is only about an inch drop for the same reason that we don't want to spend money on tires and alignment ;)
Your camber can't be adjusted as you don't have camber arms, sorry dude but in that sector you are scrwed. You need to buy camber arms for the rear, front I don't remember if there is adjustment but I doubt it. Just make sure the toe is straight as an arrow :) |
Here johnny some info so you can notice the drop ;)
My E63 tick height f/26.5 r/26.75 and dropped F/25.56 r/25.81 Stock height E63 http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1.../Gus09E633.jpg After star lowering http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1.../Gus09E638.jpg The E55, for some reason the 55 sat a bit lower in the rear than mine even tho we tried to make it even but it still looked good. Btw it was lower in the rear prior to us lowering it f/26.5 r/26.3 stock now is f/25.56 r/25.43 only an 1/8 difference http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...erts06E552.jpg Cls before http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...s/79dfb607.jpg After http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...s07CLS5501.jpg |
Damn homie. I like the before and after pics! looks like I will be buying tires every 8k miles LOL
|
If you rotate the tires you might get away with more mileage but you have to do it like every 3-4k miles
